Grade 9 Registration
Contact The Oxford School’s resource teacher, Alisha Van Haeren, if you require assistance with the process of registering for secondary school.
Note: Because The Oxford School operates in the private education sector, and not part of the public/catholic school boards, students do not yet have an OEN number (Ontario Education Number). As such, we recommend starting the pre-registration process for secondary school as early as the summer proceeding grade 8. If your child is to participate in any ‘reach ahead’ programs prior to commencement of grade 9 an OEN number is required.
Also note, students applying outside of the public/catholic school board, or applying to an out-of-area school will be required to hand in printed forms in person/mail.

Learn more about registration on their website.
*Currently the registration process is not compatible with mobile devices. Please use a computer or a laptop to complete the pre-registration process. If you require assistant, please contact the pre-registration team at studentpreregistration@tvdsb.ca.
Once you complete the on-line pre-registration form, TVDSB will contact you to verify your child's date of birth, proof of living address and proof of citizenship.
Process to Apply to an Out-of-Area Secondary School
If you are considering applying to a secondary school other than your designated home school you must contact that school to request a registration package. Along with completing the registration package for the out-of-area school, you must complete course selections for your chosen school(s), in addition to your home school.
There are a couple of things you need to keep in mind if you are requesting to attend a secondary school other than your home school, or your designated French Immersion or Emphasis Technology school:
Out-of-area applications will only be considered once all in-area students have been registered and accommodated.
Even if you do get admitted to an out-of-area school, you will NOT be provided with transportation to that secondary school. You will have to make sure that you have your own way of getting to school.
Applications must be submitted in January - check with the school for this year’s deadline.
Notification of acceptance for out-of-area students is typically communicated in mid February.
Process to Apply for the Emphasis Technology Program at CASS
Students from across Oxford County are welcome to attend CASS under the Emphasis Technology program in order to focus on an area of study not provided by their home school.
In addition to the standard pre-registration process, students are required to submit the Emphasis Technology Intent Form. Submit the completed form via email to t.vanpee@tvdsb.ca or drop off to CASS in January.
Eligibility for transportation to CASS is determined by the Southwestern Ontario Student Transportation Consortium policy. In most cases, transportation is provided for students who live more than 3.2 km away from the school.
London District Catholic School Board
Please note that enrollment in Catholic secondary schools is available to all students, both Catholic and non-Catholic. Learn more about registration on their website.
To finalize the application process, please use the provided link to create a registration account. Creating an account ensures you can maintain a record of all your applications and return at your convenience to complete any unfinished ones. Make sure to fill out the registration form for the appropriate school year.
When they have reviewed your registration form and documents, you will be contacted by email to complete your registration. At that time, you will have the opportunity to:
- select courses,
- provide your final Grade 7 report card
- provide your most recent Grade 8 report card
- other supporting information.
