Student Council
The TOS Student Council is an appointed group of students from grades 5 to 8, who wish to use leadership initiatives to encourage student activity and participation within the school. The members serve as representatives of the student body, by communicating and addressing the students’ ideas and concerns. The council members meet on a monthly basis while school is in session to discuss school matters, brainstorm school events and fundraisers.
Responsibilities
Attend ALL student council meetings.
Bring ideas, questions, and concerns from students in their class to council meetings.
Share information from council meetings with their class.
Participate in planning and running of student council events and fundraisers.
Student Council STRUCTURE
PRIME MINISTER (Grade 8 student)
Attend ALL student council meetings.
Represent the student body at meetings with staff.
Organize, facilitate, and inform the student body about school events and initiatives.
SECRETARY (Grade 7 student)
Attend ALL student council meetings.
Organize, facilitate, and inform the student body about school events and initiatives.
Assist in the planning and execution of council events.
TREASURER (Grade 8 student)
Attend ALL student council meetings.
Create and maintain an online student council file.
Help to create an agenda for each council meeting.
Record meeting minutes in a detailed and organized manner.
CLASS REPRESENTATIVES (Grades 5 - 8); two candidates from each class will be elected

Student council members will be selected this fall for the 2023-2024 school year.
